  Angels’ Place Abundant Life Services

This program enables Angels’ Place to further its mission to provide services and hope to people with developmental disabilities.  The Abundant Life Services program encompasses a wide range of community based services for people with developmental disabilities.  The program provides respite care, community support care, life skills workshops and social outings to its members.  Membership costs $25 and provides access to all Abundant Life Services as well as a membership card and newsletter.

Thank you for your interest in Angels’ Place and in our Abundant Life Services program.  We hope that this material will give you a better idea of the services offered.  Please feel free to contact Rosie Witcher, Coordinator of Abundant Life Services with any questions you might have.

We are excited to offer the Abundant Life Services which will enable us to help many additional people to those who are already residing in our 13 homes.  We are thankful to Flint Ink Foundation for providing the very generous grant that has allowed us to start this program and make it affordable for our members.  We thank you for your interest in our program and for your support.

What is Respite Care?

The Abundant Life Services program will offer respite care in your own home for your loved one with a developmental disability. Our goal is to provide you with the opportunity to replenish your care giving energies and give you the time to take care of your personal needs.  You can request either several days to allow you to take some time out of town or can request a few hours to give you a chance to go out or take care of personal business.

Who can participate?

We will provide care to Abundant Life Services members ages 9 and older who live in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.  First consideration will be given to those on the Angels’ Place waiting list.

How do I sign up?

To sign up for respite care, please call Rosie Witcher, Abundant Life Services Coordinator at (248) 350-2203.

How far in advance do I have to request care?

Please make all requests for respite care at least two weeks prior to the respite care date.

What is Community Support Services?

The community support service program provides ongoing training, supervision, and support to members on a set schedule.  Our goal is to help members achieve greater independence through learning new skills or by providing the assistance they require to live on their own.  Unlike respite care, community supports will be provided on a regular basis.  Perhaps you know someone who lives alone but could use help once a week with shopping, banking, or doing other chores.  Perhaps you know someone who lives at home but is trying to learn a new skill or trying to become more independent.  Angels’ Place Community Supports training could help him or her to achieve her goals through regular assistance.

Who can participate?

Community Support Services will be offered to Abundant Life Services members age 18 and over who live in Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb counties.  First consideration will be given to those on the Angels’ Place waiting list.

How do I sign up?

If are interested in Community Support Services please contact Rosie Witcher, Abundant Life Services Coordinator at (248) 350-2203 for further information.
