Angels’ Place Residential Program
Homes and Hope For Adults with Developmental Disabilities

General Admission Criteria
• A primary diagnosis of mental retardation.
• Minimum of 26 years of age at time of admission.
• At time of admission, the applicant must meet the entry requirements for the home in which placement is desired.
• Admission will not be denied to an individual because of race, religion, color or national origin.

Currently Angels’ Place has over 140 applicants who have indicated a need for residential services in the next 1-3 years, and an additional 200 applicants who have indicated a desire for residential services at some point in the future.

In 2012, Angels’ Place will open its 20th home to celebrate its 20th Anniversary.

Our commitment is for life to the 92 individuals we serve, so our growth sustainable as a result of our many generous donors. Individuals are encouraged to research their programmatic, funding and benefit options as applicable and based on their loved ones eligibility.

General Admission Process
Individuals interested in being considered for residential services are required to complete and submit an Angels’ Place application for services (available on line soon). For now please call Shannon at 248-350-2203 or email sschellenberger@angelsplace.com.

When Angels’ Place has a vacancy in one of its existing homes or a new home is underway, candidates for placement are considered by date of application, locale, gender, care needs, interests, and compatibility.

Angels’ Place conducts a very thorough admission process to facilitate our ability to best serve your loved one.

General Description of Residential Homes and Hope
It is our intention and honor at Angels’ Place to provide a safe home for life to the individuals who have sought and have been entrusted into our care.

Our support is hope-filled, compassionate, empowering and full of life. Therefore, we provide a wide array of services that are dynamic and individualized to the needs and the desires of those precious souls whom we serve.

Some people require total care, all day, every day, and others only require a few hours of support per day or week.

Some people drive, some people take public transportation; while others are driven in an Angels’ Place vehicle.

Some people are full time employees in a competitive or supportive work situation, while others prefer a day program format or volunteering.

Some homes are licensed and provide 24 hour care, while others are unlicensed and provide less than 24 hour care.

Some homes are owned by Angels’ Place, some are owned by families or individuals and some are leased. Some homes are houses, some homes are apartments or condos.
