Angels' Place Operates 19 homes for people with developmental disabilities.
Angels’ Place, a non profit organization founded in 1992, provides homes and services to persons with developmental disabilities. Sixteen residential homes are located in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County. A non-residential program provides respite and community living support services to persons with developmental disabilities.
“The individuals served by Angels’ Place do not get cured. They will be with us, on average, for 40 years,” says Cheryl Loveday, Executive Director. “It’s a commitment we don’t take lightly.”
Angels’ Place is funded by private donations, corporations and community mental health. For further information contact Barbara Urbiel, Director of Development, at 248-350-2203.
The developmentally disabled population is often dismissed by society; they are misunderstood and feared at times because they are different.
By increasing society’s understanding of this population, we break down those myths and prejudices.
We believe that as we eliminate the stigma placed on the developmentally disabled, the lives of our residents and those we serve will be greatly improved.
