Susan

Meet Susan at the Pine Center Home

Susan has lived at Angels’ Place Pine Center home for the past 9 years.
She is so excited right now as she recently got a job at Wing Lake Developmental Center for children with developmental disabitlies.  Susan shares some thoughts about herself below.

“My hours at Wing Lake is Monday through Friday 10-2 p.m. I work as a volunteer but would like to get paid to do it someday, says Susan.

“My job duties include starting at 10 in the morning, I take kids for a walk in hallway, help them on a bike, calm them down when they start crying. When it’s time for lunch, help wash up for lunch.  I help kids go to the lunchroom. Then kids take a nap. After I help them  with painting, put smocks on, watch them, play with them on a carpet.  Go outside on a nice day, play on swings, and we play ball. I am in charge of a small group.
Last week we got a lemon for a subject, and then kids have to paint it.

I’ve  met new friends which is really nice. You feel like a mom taking care of these kids. People tell me I’m a good mom and take care of the kids. I like going there. It makes your day go fast when you love your job.

I’m happy, I feel good and I like to have new friends. I AM REALLY HAPPY FOR MYSELF.

Susan likes to go bowling, go for walks, go swimming, feeding animals,
Likes to walk dogs so if you are looking for a dog walker call her.

Her favorite food is Mexican. She like to cook but hates cleaning up the house.
She likes to bake to cookies and cakes; anything chocolate.  Her favorite color is purple.
